Staff Messaging

Learn how to use Staff Messaging in the mobile app and web dashboard to coordinate internally, start chats, and manage group conversations.

Staff Messaging lets your staff communicate with each other through chat on the mobile app. It is a good fit for quick coordination, updates, and questions that do not need to go to families.

Before you start

  • This feature is available on the mobile app and on the web dashboard.

  • You must be a staff member with access to Staff Messaging.

Start a staff chat from the Home page

  1. Open the mobile app and go to the Home tab.

  2. In Quick Actions, select Staff Chat.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To start a new chat, select the pencil icon in the top right.

    • To continue an existing chat, select it from the list.

  4. If you are starting a new chat, select your recipients and tap Next.

  5. Type your message, then tap the blue arrow icon to send.

Start a staff chat from the Messages page

  1. In the mobile app, go to Messages.

  2. Select the floating + button in the bottom right corner.

  3. Select Staff Messaging.

  4. Select your recipients and tap Next.

  5. Type your message, then tap the blue arrow icon to send.

Rename a group chat

If you start a group chat with more than one recipient, you can rename the chat so it is easier to find later.

  1. Open the group chat.

  2. Tap Members.

  3. Tap Edit.

  4. Update the chat title, then tap Save.

If you run into issues

If you do not see Staff Chat or Staff Messaging, confirm you are logged in as a staff member and that you are using the mobile app. If you cannot add someone to a chat, confirm they are a staff member in your club and have access to messaging.

FAQs

Can families see Staff Messaging conversations?

No. Staff Messaging is intended for communication between staff members and does not go to families.

Can I use Staff Messaging on web?

Yes. This feature is available on both the mobile app and the web dashboard.

Why can’t I start a Staff Chat?

Confirm you are logged in as a staff member and that you have access to Staff Messaging.

Why can’t I add someone to a staff chat?

Confirm the person is a staff member in your club and has access to messaging.
