What the Heatmap panel shows
The Heatmap panel displays a map with clusters of player locations. Areas with more registrations appear more concentrated, helping you quickly identify where your participants are coming from.
A few things to keep in mind:
The heatmap reflects player residence locations tied to registrations.
The map is meant for spotting location trends, not for looking up individual households.
1) Use filters to refine the heatmap
Select Show Filters to filter what appears on the map.
Common filters include:
Club
Program
Registration
Season
Birth Year
Gender
Grade
After selecting your filters, select Update to refresh the heatmap.
Default filter behavior
By default, the Heatmap panel uses the same filters as your Registrations panel. If you have set personal defaults on the Registrations panel, the Heatmap panel will start from those same settings.
You can adjust the Heatmap filters at any time if you need to focus on a different program, season, or group of players.
2) Explore the map
Once the heatmap is filtered, you can interact with the map in a few common ways:
Drag to move around the map
Zoom in and out to see concentration at different levels
Switch between Map and Satellite view
Expand the map view using the expand icon, if available
3) Open the supporting report
Select View Report to open the detailed report behind the heatmap. This is helpful when you need to validate what is included in the map or when you want to take action based on what you see.
Tips and best practices
Use filters to isolate a specific program or season when you are planning outreach or assessing growth in a particular area.
Compare different seasons or cohorts (for example, by birth year) to see where participation is changing over time.
If the map looks broader or narrower than expected, confirm the default filters carried over from the Registrations panel, then adjust as needed.
