Player Retention Panel

Compare returning and unregistered players season over season and use Detailed View to identify who needs follow-up.

Updated over a week ago

The Player Retention panel helps Head Coaches understand how many players are returning season over season, and which players have not registered yet. It highlights retention trends by age group based on the seasons you select, then lets you open a Detailed View to see the full breakdown and take action.

This panel is especially useful for planning roster needs early and following up with families before key registration deadlines.

What the Player Retention panel shows

At a glance, the panel displays retention for the selected comparison years, broken into categories such as:

  • Returning: players who participated last year and have registered again this year

  • Unregistered: players from last year who have not registered for the current year

The chart gives a quick snapshot so you can see whether your team or age group is tracking on pace with expectations.

1) Choose the years you want to compare

  1. Navigate to Dashboard in the left navigation menu.

  2. Locate the Player Retention panel.

  3. Use the Compare dropdown to select the seasons you want to review (for example, 2024 → 2025).

The chart updates based on the comparison you select.

2) Review retention at a glance

Use the chart to understand the overall retention trend for the comparison years you selected. This is a quick way to answer:

  • How many players are coming back

  • How many players from last season still need to register

3) Open Detailed View to see the full breakdown

  1. Select Detailed View at the bottom of the panel to open a more detailed retention view.

In Detailed View, you can review and compare:

  • Players who returned

  • Players who are leaving

  • Players who did not register

This is the best place to identify exactly who is missing from this year’s roster so you can plan coverage and outreach.

4) Follow up with unregistered players

In Detailed View, use the unregistered list to identify players who have not registered yet, then use your team communication tools to reach out.

A simple workflow:

  1. Open Detailed View.

  2. Filter or locate the unregistered players.

  3. Send a message to families reminding them about registration timelines and next steps.
