Inviting Users to Create an Account

Learn how parents and guardians can create their own Sprocket Sports account through your club’s website, and what to do if they already have an account with another club.

Updated over a week ago

Many households have more than one parent or guardian who needs access to schedules, messages, and registrations. Rather than sharing a login, Sprocket supports inviting additional parents or guardians to create their own account and join the household. This article covers the standard self-serve account creation flow and what to know when a parent is inviting another adult.

Before you start

  • Make sure families know the correct public website for your club. That’s where they’ll start.

  • Have them use an email address they can access, since it will be used for login and club communications.

Best practice: Have parents and guardians create their own accounts

Direct parents and guardians to create their own accounts using your club’s public website.

  1. Go to your club’s public website.

  2. Select Log In (usually found in the upper right of the site).

  3. Select Don’t have an account?

  4. Enter the email address they would like to use to:

    • Receive club communications

  5. Complete the required account details, accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, then select Create account.

After the account is created, they can log in anytime using that email address and password.

If they already have an account with another club

If a parent or guardian already uses Sprocket Sports with another club, they should use the same login instead of creating a second account.

  1. Go to your club’s public website and select Log In.

  2. Log in with their existing email and password.

  3. If their account is not yet connected to your club, they’ll be prompted to add your club to their account.

  4. Select the option to join/add your club.

This keeps everything under a single login and allows them to switch between clubs as needed.

If you run into issues

If a parent or guardian can’t find their account, start by confirming they’re using the correct email address and trying the login option first (especially if they may already have an account with another club). If they still can’t get in, use Setting Up an Account on Behalf of a User to assist, and reference Shell Accounts if you need to confirm what already exists in the system.

FAQs

Should parents share a single login?

No. Each parent or guardian should create their own account rather than sharing a single email and password.

What email address should a parent use?

They should use an email address they can access regularly, since it will be used for login and club communications.

What if a parent already has a Sprocket Sports account?

They should log in with their existing email and password and add your club to their account instead of creating a new one.

Why can’t a parent create a second account with the same email?

Each email address can only be tied to one account. If they see an error, they likely already have an existing account.
