Understand which permissions are required to create events, manage ticket sales, issue refunds, and scan tickets.

Before You Start

Only users with the correct admin or staff permissions can access the Tickets module.

Who Can Create and Edit Ticketed Events?

Admins with Ticket Sale Configuration access can:

  • Create ticketed events

  • Edit event details

  • Adjust ticket pricing and availability

  • Add checkout questions

  • Update event pages

If the Tickets tab is not visible, check the user’s role permissions.

Who Can Issue Ticket Refunds?

Admins with Ticket Sale Configuration access can also:

  • Cancel purchases

  • Issue refunds

Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

What Is Ticket Sale Redemption Permission?

The Ticket Sale Redemption permission allows staff to:

  • Access Ticket Management in the mobile app

  • View purchaser lists

  • Check guests in

  • Scan ticket QR codes

Without this permission, staff will not see ticket check-in tools.

Why Can’t My Staff Scan Tickets?

Check the following:

  • Does the staff member have Ticket Sale Redemption permission?

  • Is it the day of the event? The scanner only appears on the event date.

If You Run Into Issues

If a user cannot see the Tickets tab or check-in tools, review their role settings under Permissions. Adjust access as needed and have them log out and back in.
