There are several ways to create events on your Sprocket Calendar, depending on what you’re working on and how many events you need to add at once. This article gives an overview of each method so you can choose the option that best fits your workflow.
Create an Event from the Calendar Page
The most direct way to add a new event is from the main Calendar view.
You can use the + New Event button to open the event creation panel and choose the event type, participants, and event details.
For step-by-step instructions, see the “Add a New Event” article.
Click a Specific Date on the Calendar
You can also create a new event by clicking directly on a specific date in the Calendar or by clicking on a specific time in the Week and Day Views.
This shortcut is useful when you know exactly when the event is happening. Clicking the date will start a new event on that day, and you can then choose the event type and add additional details.
This method is ideal for quickly adding one-off events such as a single meeting, game, or club activity, or recurring events like weekly practices.
Import Events Using the Import Template
If you need to add many events at once, you can use the Import option with a structured template.
With this method, you fill out a template file with your event information and upload it to create multiple events in bulk. This is especially helpful at the start of a season or when loading full schedules received from a league.
The full import process and template format are covered in a separate Import/Export article.
Create Events from the Field Schedule
On the Field Schedule tab, you can create events while you are planning how fields and facilities will be used.
There are two key options on the Field Schedule:
Schedule Builder: Opens a guided flow designed for building out larger blocks of events, such as a full practice schedule. This is ideal for planning multiple teams and time slots at once.
Add Event: Lets you create an individual event directly onto a specific time and field from the schedule view. You can also add events by clicking on the Field Calendar grid at the date and time you want to create the event for.
These tools are useful when your main focus is on field usage and you want to build events around available space. The Schedule Builder itself is covered in a separate walkthrough article.
