External Connections let you link a team’s schedule from an external vendor (like GotSport, MLS Next, or ECNL) to the team in Sprocket. Once connected, you can test the link, sync events, and manage the connection over time.
You can add connections one team at a time, or add them in bulk for multiple teams.
Availability: Web browser only.

Best practices for maintaining connections over time
Before you start
You will need the URL for the external schedule you want to connect.
Important: Make sure you copy the URL for the team’s schedule specifically, not the overall club schedule (unless you are intentionally setting up a club-level link for bulk assignments).
Add an External Connection for a single team
In your external vendor (for example, GotSport), open the team schedule and copy the URL.
In Sprocket, go to Teams in the left navigation.
Select the team you want to update.
At the top of the team page, click External Connections.
Click + Connection.
Paste the URL into the modal and click Save.
After saving, you will see the connection listed with options to:
Test Connection
Sync Data
Edit
Delete
Test and sync the connection
Click Test Connection to confirm Sprocket can read the schedule link.
If all events load successfully, click Sync Data to bring those events into Sprocket.
Tip: Always test before syncing. Testing is the quickest way to confirm the URL is correct and accessible.
Add External Connections in bulk (multiple teams)
This option is useful when you have many teams that all need their external schedules connected.
In your external vendor (for example, GotSport), locate the schedule link you plan to apply and copy the URL.
In Sprocket, go to Teams.
Select Bulk External Connections at the top of the list of teams in the program.
Click + Add Connection.
Paste the URL into the modal and click Get Teams.
Select the teams you want to apply the connection to, then click Save and Continue.
Once saved, the connection will appear with the same management options:
Test Connection
Sync Data
Edit
Delete
Repeat the test-and-sync process to confirm events load correctly.
Managing connections over time
You can add multiple links to External Connections for a team.
Once a league, tournament, or event series is finished, you can delete the connection to keep the page clean and easier to manage.
If you run into issues
No events load during Test Connection: Confirm you copied the correct URL and that it is the team schedule (not a general landing page).
Some teams should not receive the bulk connection: Remove the connection from those teams, or re-run bulk setup with a more specific URL if your vendor supports team-specific schedule links.
Events are duplicated: This can happen if multiple connections point to overlapping schedules. Review existing connections and remove any duplicates before syncing again.
