Changing a Player’s Team

Learn how to move a player to a different team after they have accepted registration, using either the Assign Players page or the player profile.

If a player has already accepted their roster spot and you need to move them to a different team, you can change their team assignment from the Assign Players page or directly from the player’s profile.

Option 1: Change a player’s team from Assign Players (From Any Program)

Use this option when you want to locate a player by program or registration and change their team assignment from a roster management view.

  1. Go to Teams > Assign Players.

  2. Identify the program the player is in, then click Assign Players from any program.

  3. Find the player using filters:

    • Filter by Registration(s) and/or Program(s), or

    • Search by the player’s Last Name

  4. Click Get Players.

  5. In the Team Assignment column, click the gear icon next to the player.

  6. Select Change Team.

  7. Select the new team from the dropdown, then click Save.

Option 2: Change a player’s team from the Player Profile (current program)

Use this option when you are already in the player’s record and want to change a team assignment from their current teams list.

  1. Go to Players.

  2. Search for the player by name (or use the search in the top-right area next to Player Last Name, if available).

  3. Click the player’s Last Name, then open the Overview tab.

  4. Scroll down to Current Teams.

  5. Click the Assigned pill next to the team assignment you want to change.

  6. In the Team Assignment area, click the gear icon and select Change Team.

  7. Select the new team from the dropdown, then click Save.

After you change the team

After saving, confirm:

  • The player appears on the correct team roster

  • The prior team roster no longer shows the player

  • Any staff who rely on team rosters (coaches, team managers) can now see the player where expected

If the player uses the mobile app, it can also help to have them refresh the app or log out and back in if the change is not visible immediately.

If you run into issues

You cannot find the player in Assign Players: Broaden filters (program/registration) or search by last name, then click Get Players again.

The new team is not available in the dropdown: Confirm the team exists and is tied to the correct program/registration.

The player still appears on the old team: Refresh the page and confirm you clicked Save after selecting the new team.
