In some programs, a player may need to participate on more than one team. A common example is a goalie practicing with two teams. In Sprocket, you can add a player to an additional team by assigning them as a Secondary Team member.

What “Secondary Team” means and what players can see
Before you start
A player can have one Primary Team per program, but can have multiple Secondary Team assignments.
If the player is only in an Assigned status on a team, they will not see that team until they are invited (invite-only programs) or placement is confirmed (open programs).
If you are using tryouts or drag-and-drop rostering
This article focuses on the steps specific to adding an additional (secondary) team assignment. If you first need help getting to the correct rostering screen, start here:
Assigning Players to a Team for Invite-Only Programs (includes assigning from tryouts and drag-and-drop)
Assigning Players to a Team for Open Programs (open registrations where families register first)
Once you are on the correct Assign Players page and have the player selected, come back here to apply the Secondary Team setting.
Option 1: Add a player to an additional team from Assign Players (any program)
Use this option when you want to add a secondary team assignment using the roster management view.
Use filters as needed to narrow results, then click Get Players.
Select the checkbox next to the player, then click Assign.
Choose the appropriate team from the Team dropdown.
Check the box next to Secondary Team.
Click Save.
Option 2: Add a player to an additional team from the player profile (current program)
Use this option when you are already in the player’s record and want to add them to another team in their current program.
Go to Players and click the player’s Last Name.
On the Overview tab, scroll to Current Teams.
Click the Accepted pill next to the player’s team name.
Select the checkbox next to the player’s name, then click Assign.
Choose the appropriate team from the Team dropdown.
Check the box next to Secondary Team.
Click Save.
What players and parents will see
A secondary team assignment behaves like any other team assignment for access and visibility.
If a player is only in Assigned status (and not invited or confirmed), they will not see the team yet.
Tip: If your club is using invite-only programs, make sure the player is invited to the additional team if you want them to have access. If it is an open program, make sure to confirm their placement on the team if you want them to have access.
