Field Schedule Event Filters

Learn how to use Event Filters and Alerts in the Field Schedule to control which facilities and events appear in the grid and to resolve scheduling issues.

Updated over a week ago

Field Schedule Event Filters control which facilities and events appear on the Field Schedule grid. These filters help you focus on specific locations, event types, teams, and coaches while you are scheduling.

Event Filters change what you see on the screen but do not modify or delete any underlying events.

AVAILABLE ON WEB BROWSER ONLY

Opening Event Filters

On the left side of the Field Schedule page, you will see two options at the top:

  • Event Filters

  • Alerts

To work with filters that change what appears in the grid, make sure Event Filters is selected. The panel beneath it contains all the filters used to control which locations and events appear in the grid.

Filter by Location

The first section of the panel is Filter by Location. These controls limit which facilities and configurations you see in the schedule.

You can filter by:

Home Facilities

  • Choose one or more home facilities.

  • Only fields from the selected facilities will appear in the grid.

Tags

  • Use Filter by Field Tag (or the equivalent tag label for your sport) to narrow the view to locations that match certain tags.

  • This is helpful when you use tags such as indoor, outdoor, turf, or has lights.

Configurations

  • Use Filter by Field Configuration to show only certain configured layouts.

  • This is useful when fields can be divided or combined in different ways.

Open From / Open Until

  • Set Open From and Open Until times to limit the facilities shown based on if they have availability within that timeframe.

  • This helps hide locations that are closed or unavailable during the time you are scheduling.

Away Facilities

  • Use Select Away Fields (or the equivalent for your sport) to include or focus on away locations when needed.

These filters let you reduce visual clutter and work only with the facilities that matter for your current scheduling work.

Filter by Events and Coach

The second section of the panel is Filter by Events and Coach. These controls refine which events are displayed within the facilities that are already in view.

You can adjust:

Include Unpublished Events

  • When enabled, the schedule includes draft or unpublished events that only admins can see.

  • Turn this off if you want to see only published events.

Event Types

  • Use the Event Types filter to include or exclude specific types of events, such as practices, games, or other categories.

  • The label may show how many event types are currently selected.

Team Calendars

  • Use the Team Calendars dropdown to filter events by team.

  • You can view all teams or focus on one team at a time.

Coach

  • Use the Filter by Coach dropdown to show events that involve a specific coach.

  • This is useful when you are trying to avoid conflicts or review one coach’s commitments across multiple teams.

These filters help you find and adjust the right events without touching anything outside the criteria you select.

How Field Schedule Event Filters Work with the Grid

When you adjust Event Filters:

  • The list of facilities and fields on the left side of the grid updates based on your location filters.

  • The events shown on those fields update based on your event and coach filters.

You can combine multiple filters to narrow the view to a very specific slice of your schedule, such as practices for a single program on one facility during certain hours.

Using the Alerts Panel

Next to Event Filters at the top of the left panel is the Alerts tab. While Event Filters control what you see in the grid, the Alerts tab helps you find items that need attention, such as unscheduled practices or events with missing fields.

  1. Select Alerts to open the Alerts panel.

Alert Filters

At the top of the Alerts panel you will see Alert Filters, which let you narrow which alerts you see:

Filter Alerts by Team

  • Choose a specific team or leave it set to All to see alerts for every team.

  • The palette icon next to this filter lets you control team colors that appear in the grid.

Coach

  • Use Filter by Coach to show only alerts that involve a specific coach.

These filters are helpful when you are focusing on cleaning up alerts for one team or one coach at a time.

Unscheduled Schedule Builder Events

The Unscheduled Schedule Builder Events section lists placeholder events created by Schedule Builder that have not yet been placed on a field and time in the grid.

For each item you can:

  • Drag and drop the event from this list into the Field Schedule grid to assign its date, time, and location.

Use this section to finish the scheduling work that Schedule Builder started.

Events With No Field/Rink

The Events With No Field (or Events With No Rink or Court, depending on your sport) section shows events that exist on the Calendar but are missing a field assignment.

You can:

  • Drag events from this list into a specific field and time slot in the grid to assign them a location.

This section is especially useful after imports or bulk event creation when some events were created without locations.

Coaching Conflicts and Rink/Field Conflicts

At the bottom of the Alerts panel you may see:

  • Coaching Conflicts

  • Field Conflicts

These sections show potential conflicts, such as a coach scheduled in two places at once or at different facilities during back-to-back timeslots, or overlapping events on the same field. When counts are greater than zero, expand the section to review and resolve those conflicts.

How Event Filters and Alerts Work Together

You can use Event Filters to control what appears on the Field Schedule grid and Alerts to clean up items that still need attention.

A typical workflow might be:

  1. Use Event Filters to focus on the correct facilities and teams.

  2. Open Alerts to assign Unscheduled Schedule Builder Events and Events With No Field.

  3. Check Coaching Conflicts and Field Conflicts to resolve any overlaps.

Together, these tools help you keep your Field Schedule accurate, complete, and conflict free.

FAQs

Do Event Filters delete or modify events?

No. Event Filters only change what is visible in the grid and do not modify or delete events.

What is the difference between Event Filters and Alerts?

Event Filters control what appears in the grid. Alerts highlight items that need attention, such as unscheduled or conflicting events.

How do I assign a field to an event that has no location?

Open the Alerts panel, find Events With No Field, and drag the event onto the desired field and time slot.

What are Coaching Conflicts and Field Conflicts?

These alerts identify potential scheduling overlaps, such as a coach double-booked or two events scheduled on the same field at the same time.
