How to Make Pages Private or Assign to User Groups

You can control who sees a page using Setup > Permissions in the Page Editor.

You can control who sees a page using Setup > Permissions in the Page Editor.

Permissions can restrict access by:

  • Logged-in status

  • Role

  • Team

  • Gender

  • Birth Year

Before You Start

  • Permissions are configured per page.

  • If editing a live page, create a draft first.


Step 1: Open Page Permissions

  1. Go to Website & App > Pages.

  2. Open the page.

  3. In the right panel, select Setup.

  4. Expand Permissions.


Option 1: Make a Page Private

To require login:

  1. Check Private Page.

  2. Select Save.

Logged-out visitors cannot access the page.


Option 2: Assign Page to Specific Groups

Assign to Roles

Restrict by staff role:

  1. Select roles under Assign To Roles.

  2. Select Save.

Assign to Teams

Restrict by team:

  1. Select team(s).

  2. Select Save.

Assign to Genders

  1. Select gender.

  2. Select Save.

Assign to Birth Years

  1. Select birth year(s).

  2. Select Save.


Optional: Auto-Assign to Child Sites

Enable if your club uses child sites and you want permissions mirrored.


Page Not Visible? (Troubleshooting)

If someone cannot see a page:

  • Confirm page is published.

  • Confirm Private Page is enabled if required.

  • Confirm user matches selected role/team/gender/birth year.

  • Test page while logged out and logged in.
