Assigning Staff to Teams

Learn where to find the workflow for assigning coaches, directors, and other staff to teams, and when to assign staff versus inviting them as a user.

Updated over a week ago

If you are looking to add coaches, directors, or other staff members to a team, you are in the right place. Staff assignments are managed in the Staff Management area of the Help Center, since the same workflow applies across team setup, messaging, and staff permissions.

What you’ll find in this article

  • Where to find the instructions for assigning staff to teams

  • When you should assign staff vs invite them as a user

Where to assign staff to teams

Follow this article for the step-by-step process:
Assigning Staff To Teams (in the Staff Management collection)

That guide walks through:

  • Assigning staff to one or more teams

  • How team roles affect what staff can access (team roster, chat, schedule, and admin tools)

  • Common troubleshooting if a staff member cannot see a team

Quick tip before you start

Make sure the person you are assigning is already set up as staff in your club. If they are not yet in your system as staff, add them first, then assign them to the correct team(s) using the Staff Management instructions above.

If you still cannot find what you need

If you are trying to do something other than assigning staff (for example, changing staff roles, removing staff from a team, or troubleshooting why a coach cannot see the team), the Staff Management collection is still the best place to start since those scenarios are covered together.
