Team Colors & Where They Are Used

Learn how to set Team Colors in Sprocket, where they appear in the mobile app, and how member overrides affect what users see.

Updated over a week ago

Team Colors let you set a default color for each team. This helps staff and families quickly distinguish teams across the mobile app, especially for clubs with multiple teams in the same program or age group.

Team Colors are set during team setup and act as the default color for everyone. Members can override team colors in their own mobile app settings, but your team color selection controls the starting point.

Where to set a team color

Team Color is available when creating a new team (and can also be updated later from the team’s setup details).

If you need a full walkthrough of creating teams, refer to your team setup and import articles in the Team Management collection.

Where team colors are used in the mobile app

When you set a default Team Color, Sprocket uses it in several places in the mobile app, including:

  • Team cards on the Home screen
Helps members quickly identify the right team from their list.

  • Event cards on Calendar and Schedule pages
Makes games, practices, and other events easier to scan by team.

  • Message threads on the Messages page
Helps distinguish team conversations at a glance.

Member overrides

Members can override team colors in their mobile app settings. When they do, the app will show their selected color instead of the club default for that team.

Tip: If a member says the team color “looks wrong,” it is often because they have customized colors in their app settings. Your default team color will still apply for members who have not made overrides.

If you run into any issues

You do not see team colors where expected: Confirm you are viewing the team in the mobile app and that the team color has been set on the team record.

Different members see different colors: This is expected if some members have overridden colors in their mobile app settings.
