If a player shows up on tryout day but is not listed on the attendance page, you can add them to the tryout registration on the spot. Sprocket lets you:
Register an existing player who is already in your club system
Add a new player under an existing parent or guardian
Create a new club account and register the player at the same time
Once the player is added, return to Checking Players In for the Tryout to mark them as attended.

Before you begin
Adding a player registers them into the tryout registration. It does not automatically mark them as attended, so you will still check them in from the attendance page after you add them.
Add a player on web
Step 1: Open Add player to tryout
In the left navigation, select Tryouts.
Open the tryout registration you are running.
Click Add Player To Tryout.
You will see two options:
Find an existing member
Create New Account (for brand new families)
Step 2: Search for an existing member
Under Find an existing member, enter at least the first two characters of the Parent or Player Last Name.
Search using both the parent or guardian last name and the player last name if you are not sure what is on file.
Select the parent or guardian from the results.
Step 3: Select the player and register them
After selecting the parent or guardian, you will see a list of players on the account.
Select the circle next to the player you want to register.
Click Register In Tryout.
If you cannot select the circle
If the circle next to a player’s name cannot be selected, that player is already registered for the tryout.
In that case:
Go back to Take Attendance.
Use the Last Name filter to search for the player and check them in from the attendance list.
If the parent or guardian exists but the player does not
If the parent or guardian is in the system but the player is not listed under their account:
Click Add a new player.
Fill out the player details:
Player First Name
Player Last Name
Date of Birth
Gender
Click Register In Tryout.
Create a new club account and register the player
Use this when the family is new to your club and does not appear in the existing member search.
From Add player to tryout, click Create New Account.
Enter the Parent Information (required):
First Name
Last Name
Email
Cell Phone (optional)
Click Save.
Enter the player information:
Player First Name
Player Last Name
Date of Birth
Gender
Click Register In Tryout.
After you save, the player will appear in the tryout session list.
What happens after you create a new account
When you create a new account and register the player:
The parent or guardian receives an email to create their Sprocket login.
Any required waivers and or payments are added to the player’s record to be completed the next time the family logs in.
Add a player in the mobile app
In the mobile app, the flow mirrors web.
Open the tryout registration.
In the bottom navigation, tap Add Player to Tryout.
Search for an existing member first, then register the player.
If no match is found, create a new account and register the player.
Next step: check the player in
After the player is registered, return to Checking Players In for the Tryout to mark them as attended.
If you run into issues
If you cannot select the circle next to a player, they are already registered. Go to Take Attendance and search for them instead.
If you created a new account but still cannot find the player on the attendance list, refresh the page and confirm you are in the correct tryout registration.
FAQs
Does adding a player automatically check them in?
No. Adding a player registers them into the tryout registration, but you must still mark them as attended from the attendance page.
What if the player is already registered?
If the circle cannot be selected, the player is already registered. Go to Take Attendance and search for them there.
Can I add a brand new family on tryout day?
Yes. Use Create New Account to enter parent information and register the player at the same time.
Will the parent receive a login after I create a new account?
Yes. The parent or guardian receives an email to create their Sprocket login, and any required waivers and or payments are added to the player’s record.
