Other Programs

Learn when to use Other Programs for registrations that do not fit standard sports program types, and how they can support payments, teams, and event communication.

1. What this Program Type is

Other Programs are a flexible option used to handle any registration needs that do not neatly fit into the more specific Program types. They give you a way to collect sign ups and payments for activities that sit outside your regular training, leagues, tournaments, or tryouts.

Examples include collecting money for a raffle, tracking sign ups for a club World Cup watch party, or managing registrations for a fundraising event.

For events that are tied to very specific dates where you mostly need to sell tickets for a particular game, social event, or banquet, you can also use the Ticketed Events module found under Tickets in the left navigation. Ticketed Events are often the simplest option when the main goal is selling and scanning tickets for a specific calendar event, while Other Programs are better when you want a registration style experience with Program and team tools available.

Other Programs can be set up as Open or Invitational with Registration, and they always use Traditional Teams.

2. When to use this Program Type

Use an Other Program when you have a registration need that does not match a Core, Supplemental, Training Sessions, Subscription, Tryout, League, or Tournament Program.

Typical use cases include:

  • Fundraisers and raffles

  • Social events such as watch parties or banquets

  • Special club events that involve sign ups and payments but are not competitions or training sessions

  • One off activities that are unique to your club and do not need dedicated tools from another Program type

Other Programs are a good fit when:

  • You want to collect basic registration details and payments for a special event

  • You want to use familiar Program and Registration tools without committing to a specific sports focused type

  • You may want to group participants into teams or lists for communication or simple scheduling

For some date specific events, especially when attendance is driven by ticket sales rather than player style registration, it may be easier to use the Ticketed Events module under Tickets. Ticketed Events are designed to help you set up an event, create ticket types, and sell tickets directly. Other Programs are still a good choice when you want these registrations to live in the Programs area, connect to teams, or use Program level reporting. Details on setting up Ticketed Events will be covered in a separate collection.

If your activity clearly matches another Program type, it is usually better to use that more specific type so you can take advantage of the tools that come with it.

3. How registration works with this Program Type

Other Programs support both Open and Invitational with Registration setups.

Open Programs

  • Any eligible participant can see the Program and register.

  • This is useful for events where the whole club or community is welcome, such as a club wide watch party or social event.

Invitational with Registration

  • You control who can register by sending invitations.

  • This works well for invite only events, such as a leadership dinner or a limited capacity experience for selected families.

Registration details typically focus on:

  • Collecting the basic participant information you need

  • Gathering any required waivers or acknowledgements

  • Charging a fee, if the event is paid, such as raffle tickets, an event ticket price, or a contribution amount

You can configure one or multiple Registrations depending on whether you want:

  • Different price points or ticket types

  • Separate options for players, parents, coaches, or guests

  • Add ons such as extra raffle entries or merchandise

4. How teams and rostering work

Other Programs always use Traditional Teams, although in many cases you will not think of them as competitive teams.

Key points:

  • You can create teams inside the Other Program and roster participants to them if it makes sense for your event.

  • For example, you might create teams for a fundraising challenge, table assignments at a banquet, or groups for a social activity.

  • Traditional Teams allow you to use team based communication and calendars if you want to divide participants into smaller groups.

  • In many simple cases, you may choose to create a minimal team structure, such as a single team that all participants are added to. This still satisfies the requirement for Traditional Teams while keeping setup easy.

As with other Program types that rely on Traditional Teams:

  • Team based features such as rosters, communication, and event scheduling are available.

  • Team Type is fixed for this Program type, so it is not changed to another team behavior.

5. How this Program Type connects to other features

Other Programs connect to the rest of the platform in familiar ways, but they are not tied to specialized modules.

Calendar usage

  • You can create events for the activity, such as the date of a raffle drawing, a watch party, or a club social event.

  • Events tied to the Other Program and its teams must fall within the Program Start Date and End Date.

  • If you use teams to group participants, you can also use team level calendars for group specific details.

Communication

  • With Traditional Teams in place, you can send messages to all participants or to specific groups inside the Program.

  • This is helpful for reminders, updates, and follow ups related to the event.

Relationship to other Programs

  • Other Programs often sit alongside your main Core, Supplemental, and Tournament Programs.

  • A player might be on a Core team and also registered in an Other Program for a fundraiser or club event.

Reporting

  • Using the Other Program type and appropriate Program Category helps you track these special activities separately from your main sports Programs.

  • This makes it easier to see participation and revenue from fundraisers, social events, and other unique offerings.
