Website Launch Checklist

Launching your club website for the first time?

If you’re asking:

  • “Where do I start?”

  • “What pages do I need?”

  • “What should I set up before going live?”

  • “How do I know my website is ready?”

This checklist walks you through the essential steps to launch a professional, functional website using Sprocket Sports.

Looking for a deeper explanation of how your website works?

Before launching, you may want to review:

This checklist focuses on getting your site live. For detailed instructions on specific features, see the related articles below.

Step 1: Create Your Core Pages

At minimum, your website should include:

  • Home

  • Programs or Register

  • Teams

  • About Us

  • Contact or Resources

To create a page:

Website & App → Pages → Add Page

Tip: Keep your navigation simple and easy to understand.

Step 2: Add a Homepage Banner

Your homepage banner is your first impression.

Make sure it:

  • Clearly states who you are

  • Includes your club name and sport

  • Includes a call-to-action (e.g., Register Now)

Use the Banner or Image Carousel content option.

If your banner does not display full width:

  • Confirm the page is set to 100% width layout.

Step 3: Make Registration Easy to Find

Visitors should be able to register within 10 seconds of landing on your site.

Add:

  • An Open Registrations content block

  • A “Register” link in top navigation

  • Buttons on your homepage linking directly to registrations

If registrations are not appearing:

  • Confirm they are marked as open.

  • Confirm they do not require invitations.

Step 4: Add Staff and Team Information

Parents want to know who is coaching their child.

Add:

  • A Staff List page

  • Individual Staff Profiles

  • Team pages if applicable

Make sure staff are added under:
Staff → Manage Staff

Step 5: Upload High-Quality Photos

Visuals build trust and professionalism.

Upload:

  • Homepage banner image

  • Practice or game photos

  • Team images

Images should be:

  • High resolution

  • Properly sized

  • Recent

Blurry or stretched images reduce credibility.

Step 6: Add Testimonials (Optional but Recommended)

Testimonials increase trust and conversion.

Add the Testimonials content option to:

  • Homepage

  • About page

  • Dedicated Testimonials page

If no photo is uploaded, your club logo will display automatically.

Step 7: Configure Navigation

Go to:

Website & App → Navigation

Confirm:

  • Pages are visible

  • Order makes sense

  • Registration is easy to find

  • No broken links exist

Avoid cluttered or confusing menus.

Step 8: Set Basic SEO Settings

Before going live, confirm:

  • Homepage includes club name + location

  • Each important page has a unique Meta-Title

  • Global Meta-Description is set

  • Page URLs are clean (not page123)

To edit SEO:

Website → Pages → Open Page → Setup → SEO

Step 9: Connect Google Search Console (Recommended)

Google Search Console allows you to:

  • Submit pages for indexing

  • Monitor search visibility

  • Identify errors

This helps your site appear in search results faster.

Step 10: Test Your Website Before Launch

Before sharing your website publicly:

✔ Click every navigation link
✔ Click every registration button
✔ Test your contact form
✔ Confirm images load properly
✔ Confirm pages display correctly on mobile

Open your website in an incognito window to preview it as a visitor.

Final Pre-Launch Review Checklist

Before going live, confirm:

  • Core pages are created

  • Registration is visible

  • Staff are listed

  • Banner is professional

  • Navigation is clean

  • SEO basics are set

  • Links are working

  • Content is current

If all boxes are checked, your website is ready to launch.
