What Do If a New Team Is Formed During Tryouts

Learn how to add a new team during tryouts, connect it to the correct registration price point, and ensure players see the correct season fee.

If, on tryout day, your club needs to add one or more teams beyond what you originally planned, you can create the team in your season’s core program and connect it to the correct registration. Once that setup is complete, you can roster players to the new team and the correct registration option will be available.

Before you start

You will need to know:

  • The core program / club dues program for the current season

  • Which registration (price point) this new team should be tied to

Step 1: Create the new team inside the season program

  1. Go to Programs in the left navigation.

  2. Click into the current season’s Core Program / Club Dues.

  3. Open the Teams/Groups step.

  4. Click + Add New Team.

  5. Enter the new team name in both:

    • Team Name

    • Registration Label Override

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Save again under the list of assigned teams.

Tip: Using the same value for Team Name and Registration Label Override keeps the invitation banner consistent and avoids confusion for families.

Step 2: Attach the new team to the correct registration

Next, tie the team to the registration option that matches the team’s pricing.

  1. At the top of the program editor, switch to Registrations.

  2. Click into the registration that has the corresponding price point for the new team.

  3. Open the Teams step inside the registration.

  4. Click + Add Team and select the new team.

  5. Click Save.

Step 3: Roster players to the new team

Once the team is created and connected to the correct registration, you can roster players to the new team. When you do, the system will present the registration you tied the team to.

If you run into any issues

The team appears in the program but not in registrations: Make sure you also added the team to the registration’s Teams step (Step 2).

The wrong price point shows when rostering players: Double-check you attached the team to the correct registration.

Do I need to create a new registration for the new team?
Not necessarily. You only need to attach the team to the correct existing registration price point.

Why aren’t players seeing the correct fee?
Confirm the team is attached to the correct registration under the Registrations tab.

Can this be done on mobile?
No. This workflow is available on web browser only.

What happens after setup is complete?
Once the team is connected to the correct registration, players rostered to the team will see the appropriate price point.
