Duplicating a Registration

Learn how to duplicate a registration to quickly reuse a proven setup, carry over pricing rules, and safely adjust dates, eligibility, and display settings before opening to families.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Duplicating a registration is a quick way to confirm you are starting from a proven setup, then adjust only what you need (pricing, dates, eligibility, display settings, and more). This is especially helpful for multi-session programs where registrations are mostly the same.

This article covers:

  • Two ways to duplicate a registration

  • What to check on the duplicated copy before opening it to families

AVAILABLE ON WEB BROWSER ONLY

Option 1: Duplicate from the Registrations list

Use this option when you are viewing the list of registrations inside a program.

  1. Navigate to Programs and open the program you are working in.

  2. Toggle to the Registrations tab.

  3. Find the registration you want to copy.

  4. Click the three-dot menu next to that registration.

  5. Select Duplicate.

You will get a new registration that uses the original as a starting point.

Option 2: Duplicate while editing a registration

Use this option when you are already inside a registration and want to create a copy without backing out to the list.

  1. Navigate to Programs and open the program you are working in.

  2. Toggle to Registrations, then click into the registration you want to copy.

  3. In the upper corner, click Actions.

  4. Select Duplicate.

You will get a new registration that uses the current registration as a starting point.

What happens when you click Duplicate

No matter which duplication option you use, the system will prompt you with a quick setup step before creating the new registration.

At this point, you can:

  • Update the Registration Name
This allows you to give the duplicated registration a new name right away (for example, changing “Week 1 Camp” to “Week 2 Camp”) so it’s easy to identify immediately.

  • Choose whether to duplicate Price Overrides
A checkbox lets you decide if the Price Overrides from the original registration should carry over to the new one.

    • If checked, all existing price override rules are copied to the new registration.

    • If unchecked, the new registration will start with the base list price only.

This step helps prevent accidental pricing issues, especially when duplicating registrations across different weeks, sessions, or seasons.

Once you confirm these options, the system creates the duplicated registration using your selections.

What to do after duplicating

Before families register, it is worth doing a quick review of the duplicated registration so you do not accidentally open the wrong option.

Recommended checks:

  • Registration Name
Update the name so it is clear to both admins and families (for example, “Week 2 Camp” instead of “Week 1 Camp”).

  • Start Date and End Date
Confirm the registration open and close dates are correct for the new offering.

  • Eligibility Settings
Verify age group, birthdate range, grade, graduation year, and gender settings match the new option.

  • Display Settings
If you use Session Override dates, update them so families see the correct session window.

  • Max Capacity and Waitlist settings
Confirm capacity rules match what you intend for the new registration.

Tip: If the duplicated registration uses a Registration Form that is also used by other registrations, edits to that form can affect multiple registrations. If you need a form that is unique to the new registration, duplicate the Registration Form before making major changes.

FAQs

Does duplicating a registration copy eligibility and display settings?

Yes. Duplicating a registration copies its setup, including eligibility, pricing, display settings, and other configuration details, unless you choose not to copy Price Overrides.

Will Price Overrides automatically carry over when I duplicate?

Only if you select the option to duplicate Price Overrides during the duplication step. If you leave it unchecked, the new registration will use only the base list price.

Does duplicating a registration create a new Registration Form?

No. The duplicated registration will use the same Registration Form as the original unless you later duplicate the form and attach a new one.

Can I edit the duplicated registration before families see it?

Yes. After duplicating, you can update name, dates, eligibility, pricing, and capacity before opening it to families.
